Cleaning Products I Use – Full Breakdown
Here’s a list of the cleaning products I personally use from motorcycle washing to chain maintenance. These are part of my daily routine and reflect what works for me.
1. Washing Shampoo
I use a 5L container of K2 BELA PRO Blueberry – Active Foam (pH7 neutral). I go through one every month because I wash my bike at least once a week.
Cost: €18
2. Wheel Cleaner
For wheels, I always go with Motul MC CARE™ E3 Wheel Clean. It’s cost-effective compared to other brands, non-aggressive, and safe for all types of rims aluminum, painted, chrome-plated, etc.
💡 Highly recommended.
Cost: €6
3. Chain & Brake Cleaner – All-in-One
LIQUI MOLY 1602 Motorcycle Chain Cleaner is my go-to. It’s half the price of most competitors and works incredibly well spray, wipe, done. I even use it on electrical components (with caution). By far the best cleaning product in my arsenal.
💡 Tip: Be sure to get the correct adapter for your model.
Cost: €3.99
4. Chain Lube
I use SAE 80W-90 oil to keep the chain in top condition. No overpriced, overhyped lubes. After decades of riding and wrenching, I’ve learned not to waste money and many manufacturers even recommend this type of oil.
💡 Stop wasting money on fancy lubes.
Cost: €15
5. K2 Pressure Sprayer
When I’m too lazy to bring out the big gear, I use a 1L K2 pressure sprayer. Just fill it, pump it, and spray away. Perfect little tool for quick cleans and ideal for lazy days.
Cost: €9
6. Microfiber Cloths
I don’t just throw them away after one use. If they’re still good, I wash them in the machine and reuse them. Once they’re too dirty to salvage, they get demoted to chain, oil, or floor-cleaning duty.
Cost: €12
7. Cleaning Brushes
I bought two sets of 5 brushes each. One set is dedicated to general motorcycle cleaning. The other is for the heavy-duty stuff chain, brakes, engine parts, and exhausts.
Cost: €15
8. Chain Cleaning Brush Set
This brush is more aggressive and cleans the chain from all three sides at once. It also comes with long bristles for those hard-to-reach spots. I also keep an old toothbrush around perfect for cleaning tight areas like the front sprocket.
Cost: €15
9. Polishing Compounds
I use Menzerna’s 3-step polishing set:
-
1000 – Heavy Cut, 2500 – Medium Cut and3000 – Final Finish. Paired with sponges and adapters, these are great for removing scratches and keeping the bike looking like new including plastic parts like the windshields.
Cost: €35
10. Exhaust Cleaner
I wanted to clean my Mv Agusta`s exhaust pipes for like ages but couldn’t find the right product, until I found AUTOSOL Anti Blau from KMD motoshop. And the results were amazing it cleaned up the rust and heat discoloring like it was nothing. Definitely recommending it.
Cost: €20
