Basic tools every motorcyclist should own for basic repairs and quick fixes.

1. Socket Set (Metric).

Reason: Most motorcycles use metric bolts (8mm, 10mm, 12mm, 14mm etc.). A full socket set (with 1/4” and 3/8” drive sizes) lets you loosen or tighten almost every part and body panels, mirrors, wheels, etc.

💡 Choose one with deep and shallow sockets.

Cost: €15-€20 - Set of 12+ pieces

2. Allen (Hex) Key Set + Torx Set

💡 Get both L-wrench and socket-style Allen/Torx bits for better reach and torque.

3. Screwdriver Set (Flat + Phillips)

Why: Removing battery terminals, seat bolts, plastic clips, and electrical components. Essential for everything from changing bulbs to removing panels.

🔧 Get a set with different lengths and heads (JIS head is a bonus for Japanese bikes).

Cost: €10-€15 -Set of 8+ pieces

4. Pliers Set (Needle-nose, regular)

Why: For gripping, twisting, cutting wire, or pulling out cotter pins and clips. Needle-nose pliers are especially handy for tight engine bay work.

🧷 Locking pliers can temporarily hold parts together while you wrench.

5. Tire Pressure Gauge

Why: Proper tire pressure = safe handling, grip, and tire longevity. You can lose 1–2 PSI per week. highly recommended for new riders.

Start small with the basics, then expand based on the type of work you want to do (oil changes, brake service, electrical, etc.).
