One Day One City Episode Two | Bratislava, Slovakia with the MV Agusta Dragster 800

After the first episode of One Day One City, it was time for another adventure.

This time the destination was much closer to home, but the goal was a little different.

The mission? Ride to Bratislava and finally try tacos for the first time in my life.

Now, riding for hours just because I wanted to eat tacos sounded slightly ridiculous… even by my standards. So instead of making it only about food, I decided to turn it into a proper one-day adventure and explore Bratislava along the way.

A city, some sightseeing, good food, and of course a motorcycle. Exactly what this series is about.

The day started with entering Bratislava’s old town through one of its most famous landmarks Michael’s Gate.

Walking through the historic entrance immediately changes the atmosphere. The busy city disappears behind you, and suddenly you are surrounded by old streets, colorful buildings, cafés, and centuries of history.

Of course, no city exploration is complete without a coffee stop. For this trip, I decided to visit Kormuth Confectionery. And visually… this place is impressive.

The interior looks like something from another era. Beautiful painted ceilings, detailed walls, and an atmosphere that makes you feel like you stepped back in time. It is definitely a place designed for photos and social media.

But this trip is also about sharing the reality, not just the Instagram version.

And the reality? You are paying mostly for the atmosphere.

I ordered coffee and a piece of chocolate cake, and the total came to around 20 euros.

The problem was that after all the expectations created by the beautiful interior, the cake itself was honestly disappointing. It was dry, and finishing it became more of a challenge than a pleasure.

So if you want to spend 20 euros on coffee just to sit surrounded by beautiful paintings, this is the place.

If you are coming mainly for amazing cake… maybe look somewhere else.

After my expensive coffee experience, I continued towards one of Bratislava’s biggest landmarks Bratislava Castle.

Sitting high above the Danube River, the castle is one of the city’s most recognizable symbols.

The first castle on this location dates back centuries, with the site playing an important role throughout Slovak history. The current appearance comes mostly from its reconstruction after the castle was heavily damaged by fire in the early 19th century.

Today, it is one of the best places in Bratislava to slow down. The views from the castle area are fantastic. You can see the entire city, the Danube River, and even across towards neighboring countries on a clear day.

The castle gardens are also worth visiting. They are peaceful, spacious, and a perfect place to escape the noise of the city.

And the best part? Walking around the castle grounds is free. Sometimes the best parts of a city are the ones that don’t cost anything.

After exploring the castle, the sugar levels were starting to drop, so it was time for another food stop.

This time I went to Paris Café for pancakes. And honestly, it was exactly what I needed. A little sugar, a little rest, and enough energy to continue exploring. Sometimes travel food doesn’t need to be complicated. Sometimes you just need something sweet to keep you moving.

Next stop on the list was one of Bratislava’s most photographed buildings St. Elizabeth’s Church, also known as the Blue Church. I really wanted to see it properly, but unfortunately, my timing was not perfect. The church was partially closed, so I could only get a few shots through the gates. A small reminder that when travelling, things don’t always go according to plan.

If you are planning to visit the Blue Church yourself, check the opening times before going. Wednesday is usually the best day because that is when it is open to the public. Sometimes a little planning saves a wasted trip.

And finally…The moment that started the whole adventure. The tacos. After years of somehow never trying them, I finally made it to Mezcelli Restaurant. And I have to say…They were worth the ride. The tacos were something completely new for me, but I really enjoyed them. The portions were generous, the flavors were interesting, and the prices were actually fair.I ordered several tacos, drinks, and dessert, and the whole meal came to around 50 euros. The staff were also fantastic friendly, helpful, and genuinely Welcoming. After a day of walking around Bratislava, this was the perfect ending.Looking back at this episode of One Day One City, Bratislava turned out to be exactly what I wanted from this series. Not just a destination. An experience.I explored historic streets.I found amazing views.I discovered places I liked…and places where the internet made them look better than reality.I finally tried tacos. And most importantly, I spent another day doing what motorcycles are meant for:exploring somewhere new.The MV Agusta Dragster 800 made every kilometer enjoyable, and Bratislava proved that you don’t always need a huge adventure to create a memorable one.Sometimes all you need is a motorcycle, a city, and a reason to go.One motorcycle. One day.One city. And many more adventures to come.
