Yamaha Crash Report: Two Crashes, Two Insurance Payouts, and a Long Road to Recovery

Well… it as we all know by now it happened twice.
Our beloved Yamaha went down not once, but twice in a pretty short span of time. Two separate crashes, two insurance claims, and now, finally, two payouts. The first crash earned me €950 from the insurance company, and after the second—much more expensive incident, I got another €3,200. Not exactly the way I wanted to fund a rebuild, but here we are.
So, what’s next?
Thanks to the combined €4,150, I can finally start ordering parts and begin the process of getting the bike back into shape, dare I say much better this time around. It’s not going to be quick, and it sure as hell won’t be easy but if you’re into fixing things yourself or just want to see what kind of work goes into reviving a crash-damaged machine, you’ll want to stick around.
What You Can Expect
Over the next few weeks (or months, let’s be real), I’ll be sharing:
A full breakdown of the damage from both crashes
What parts need replacing, repairing, or upgrading
Where I’m sourcing the parts (OEM vs aftermarket, and which ones are worth the extra €€€)
How much everything costs, down to the last bolt
Step-by-step repair updates, including all the mistakes I’m guaranteed to make along the way
If you’ve ever wondered what it really takes to bring a crashed Yamaha back from the dead or if you’re dealing with your own insurance drama this series is for you.
Final Thoughts (for now)
Crashing sucks. Twice sucks even more. But at least the insurance came through, and now it’s time to turn this mess into a project worth doing. The goal? Get the bike not just back to how it was—but better.
So stay tuned. The rebuild starts now.
