My First Motorcycle Crash — Lessons Learned and Gear That Saved Me.
On May 25, 2025, I experienced something every rider dreads — my first crash. And it was scary.
While riding through a sharp corner, a deer suddenly ran across the road. By the time I spotted it, there was absolutely no way to avoid the inevitable. There was simply no earlier moment when I could have seen it, given the nature of the corner.
Luckily, it seems I had some guardian angels watching over me that day. Despite the seriousness of the situation, I walked away with only minor bruises.
And that’s largely thanks to the gear I was wearing — it did a fantastic job absorbing most of the impact. Honestly, I’m still surprised I didn’t break any bones, especially considering the speed I was going.
The Gear That Protected Me
Here’s the gear I was wearing during the crash, along with its current condition:
· Helmet: KYT R2R Concept — will need to be replaced
· Jacket: IXS Idsc — still perfectly usable
· Gloves: KNOX Handroid Mark V — still usable
· Trousers: STREET RACER Stretch II — still usable
· Boots: SHIMA Edge Vented — still usable
The Bike
My MV Agusta Dragster 800 wasn’t as lucky. It suffered some damage, but the good news is that it’s already in the process of being repaired. I’m working to restore it to its original state.

Final Thoughts:
This experience really reinforced one lesson: good gear is priceless. You never know when you’ll need it — but when that moment comes, it can make all the difference.
Ride safe out there. 🏍️
